The Tapestry Building, one of Grontmij’s prestigious redevelopment projects in Devonshire Square, has been awarded Best Conversion in the London Evening Standard New Homes Awards.
Commissioned by Carrot Developments, Grontmij transformed the 18th Century Grade II listed warehouse into 14 luxury residential apartments, complete with high-end home entertainment, interior lighting systems, security and access control systems as well as developing flexible retail space on the basement level. Grontmij worked to ensure that the high quality loft apartments promoted environmentally responsible usage, whilst still maintaining their appeal to their potential target market.
The London Evening Standard New Homes Awards celebrate the highest standards of skill, design and craftsmanship in today’s new homes. The awards covered ten categories across the housing spectrum and were judged by Evening Standard readers as well as a panel of industry experts.
Geoffrey Palmer, Director - Building Services, Energy and Environment, commented “Refurbishment projects are challenging and this award recognises the outstanding result that has been achieved in great part by the efforts of our team”.
