A fresh approach
Twin lifts and roof level plant allows for maximum lettable space
The St Botolph Building
The St Botolph Building, London
The St Botolph Building is designed to provide high quality, large open-plan work spaces in the City of London. TWIN© lifts will be incorporated in the building layout to minimize lift shaft space take.
Grontmij’s revised core design incorporates a TWIN© lift strategy comprising 16 lifts in eight shafts. This has resulted in a significant saving in floor space, providing an increase in nett lettable area. Four perimeter cores allow resilience to be built into the services strategy by allowing duplicate risers to be provided where required.
The atrium ventilation system makes use of recycled air from the offices to control temperature within. The building uses traditional 2-pipe fan coil units with electric reheat, this highly flexible solution well designed easily passes the Part L2 requirements.
