Knights Academy
Haberdashers' Aske's Knights Academy, London
Grontmij has provided full design services for a number of City Academy projects including Haberdashers’ Aske’s Knights Academy in Bromley, Haberdashers’ Aske’s Hatcham College and St Paul’s Academy in Greenwich.
The objective was to construct a new academy building complex on a site with an existing school operating adjacent to it. The building had to pay particular attention to noise and safety concerns whilst also complying with DfES’s Schools Building and Design Unit (SBDU) Building Bulletins.
Grontmij created an environmentally efficient building that maximised the use of shading, natural ventilation through automated high level openable windows and flexible future-proofed ICT and AV.
