Having also been responsible for the base building design, Grontmij worked with the Bank’s head of engineering and IT sections to ensure that there were no single points of failure for the critical mechanical and electrical systems. As the client was also the end user of the building, regular design reviews were held not only at the briefing and scheme design stage, but also through detailed design and tender production to ensure optimum understanding.

The resulting engineering services not only met the client’s expectations in terms of quality, resilience and maintenance but also created ownership of the final product due to full involvement in the design and construction process.
