RADA’s existing building on the site was 75% demolished and rebuilt to improve space usage.

The aims was to transform the existing labyrinthine warren of disconnected spaces into a more open and flexible environment. Grontmij installed variable geometry diffusers to ensure effective ventilating, heating and cooling for all conditions from full performance down to rehearsals and school settings. In addition, air side free cooling for the main theatre spaces reduce the energy load whilst maintaining comfortable conditions throughout the year. Well designed exposed services kept costs to a minimum.
