Keeping the hotel fully operational throughout the project

Grosvenor House Hotel

Grosvenor House Hotel, London

Designed by Edwin Lutyens and built in 1929, the Grosvenor House on London’s Park Lane is one of the few remaining quintessentially English hotels in London.

Significant challenges were addressed to maintain a fully operation hotel at all hours during the refurbishment and, in particular, to allow the high-revenue Great Room, which is the largest indoor function room of its type in London, to function seamlessly.

The scope of the refurbishment was tailored to suit the budget available and required informed decisions to be made with regard to the retention of existing or the provision of new services. Studies carried out identified key parts of the installation to be replaced and prioritized conceded elements so that deferred works would not impact on finished areas.
