Alexander is a chartered engineer with more than 10 years’ experience in delivering building services and low energy / sustainable designs solutions for complex private and public sector projects, from the conceptual design phase through to construction design and completion.

Whilst a Mechanical Design Engineer and Associate Director, he led various project design teams which included principal mechanical, electrical and public health engineers, as well as drawing upon the specialist knowledge of our in-house fire, lift and environmental departments.

Alexander was one of the first ‘Bespoke’ BREEAM Assessors in the UK, as well as one of the first ‘International’ BREEAM assessors in the UK.  He is also a registered BREEAM for Offices and EcoHomes assessor. 

Since joining Grontmij in November 2000, he has become a key advisor for our specialist Building Services Environmental team, expanding awareness and innovative environmental and sustainable design throughout the industry.

Now as Director of Sustainability, he continues to build upon his ability to develop strong working relationships with high profile clients and other design team members from other disciplines.
