Grontmij was appointed as services consultant for the refurbishment and extension of this 1950’s building.
The appointment follows on from due diligence survey work carried out and subsequent option appraisals for the site. The aim was to create high-quality city office accommodation within the constraints of the existing building structure and views of St. Pauls Cathedral. The fire strategy, negotiated by Grontmij has facilitated a significant increase in office floor area and an additional floor level by enhancing the fire fighting access and means of escape. Heat recovery on the ventilation air and low-energy lighting solutions have been adopted to assist in exceeding the requirements of the Building Regulations.
