Environmental Consultant (LEE/ENV/042-02)
Duties to include desk study writing, interpretive report writing, site supervision, site investigation design and liaison with internal/external clients and sub contractors. Preparation of specifications and construction drawings. Qualitative and Quantitative contaminated land risk assessments.
Project management of small and medium sized/risk jobs and involvement in large schemes, including regeneration and remediation projects.
Providing general support on projects managed through the Leeds, Solihull and Bristol offices.
Outline of role:
Provide consultancy services in relation to geo-environmental assessments by undertaking both office and site based work.
Prepare and undertake geo-environmental reports and verification reports.
Provide assistance with geo-environmental investigations.
Site supervision and routine monitoring during site investigations and construction programmes.
Training to manage small then medium projects. Develop the ability to undertake financial management of project tasks by acting as a task manager.
Undertake financial management of project tasks by acting as task manager/project manager.
Develop and enhance existing skills in geo-environmental investigations. Develop skills in design aspects of contaminated land investigation.
Develop skills in Qualitative and Quantitative risk assessment.
Develop understanding of relevant British Standards and other relevant design guides.
Involvement in the provision of consultancy services to developers and other clients with land portfolios or their representatives.
Assist in/undertake proposal writing
Assist in general marketing on behalf of the Company and develop customer relationships
Undertake design delivery tasks as required to the programme and level of quality as defined by the line manager/team leader
Prepare drawings, reports etc to the best of their ability, taking guidance as required
Management of self to achieve defined targets
Qualifications required:
Qualified to degree level, preferably to MSc level in a relevant environmental science
Experience required:
Up to five years experience in an Environmental Consultancy background is preferred
Qualities required:
Ability to work on own initiative and seek assistance when required
Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales are met
Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions
Take responsibility for personal development
Able to work collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors.
Demonstrate pride in work, through accurate timely delivery
Be well organised and systematic
