Modeller/ Engineer (ALT/WAT/034) 

Working as part of a small modelling team with responsibility for all aspects of wastewater network modelling projects, making use of experience and expertise to lead more complex sections of the model maintenance programme whilst mentoring more junior members of staff.

Outline of role

Tender

Assist in the preparation of the Scope of Services (Proposal) documents including any post tender negotiations

Project Start-up

Assist the Project Manager as required in clarifying the project brief, agree deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy
Input to technical elements of the Project Management Plan
Input into project checking requirements
Attend internal project start-up meeting

Project Delivery

Lead the construction and verification of complex wastewater network models together with all associated reporting.
Undertake analysis of wastewater networks and associated reporting
Undertake audits of models

Data Analysis

Manage site survey work, gathering data and information as required
Analyse surveys and reports
Prepare and collate schedules, reports and survey data

Liaison

Represent Grontmij at Client meetings
Liaise with 3rd parties on-behalf of project teams as required
Liaise with sub-contractors as required
Deal with / respond to customer / 3rd party enquiries

Project Close-out

Attend ‘close out meeting’ with the client
Recommend / implement improvements to technical policy, processes and design solutions and share via the knowledge management channels as appropriate

Qualifications required:  

Recognised academic qualification: Degree, HND, HNC
To have/or to be working towards a recognised professional qualification and membership of appropriate professional bodies

Experience required: 

Have outline knowledge of the management of smaller projects, both financially and technically
Strong interpersonal / team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors.
Have appropriate experience in design, contract and tender preparation, tender assessment, construction supervision and administration.
Familiarity with InfoWorks, MapInfo and MS Office software packages.
