Quality Manager (LEE/SUP/089)
Responsible for managing, developing and driving the integrated management systems for Grontmij and associated businesses
Outline of role:
- Support the Director of Health and Safety with all quality systems matters.
- Develop and lead the maintenance of the Company Quality, Health & Safety and Environment certifications - the Integrated Management System (IMS);
- Advise and guide the Expertise Area’s in the development of the IMS system and processes;
- Proactively drive improvements in business processes through the effective implementation of the IMS systems;
- Provide leadership, drive, support and advice to managers and staff on all aspects of IMS;
- Develop and proactively deliver IMS training at appropriate levels within the company as required;
- Manage and drive the internal audit process and identify and train the Internal Auditors;
- Manage all records relating to IMS.
- Liaise with 3rd party certification bodies including Achilles (maintenance of UVDB), Verify, Link Up and HA
- Provide support and information for pre-qualifications and tenders relating to IMS issues;
- Member of the HSQE committee
- Works closely with HSQE & HR representatives in the Company;
- Good working relationships with Expertise Area Directors, Project Managers and project teams
- Develops and maintains strong links with external third parties in the field of expertise
Qualifications required:
- Suitably qualified (HNC/HND/Degree level)
- Audit qualification (lead auditor preferred)
- Member of the Chartered Quality Institute; (or working towards)
Experience required:
- Good working knowledge of relevant legislation and management system standards;
- In depth working knowledge and understanding of Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Systems certified to ISO 9001; ISO 14001; OHAS 18001.
- Previous experience in a similar role within construction/consultancy businesses preferred;
- Highly computer literate with MS Office including Visio
- Competent training and presentation skills

- Ability to lead and direct all IMS activities within the business and ensure initiatives are driven through;
- Ability to influence and persuade without direct line authority;
- Good understanding of project management processes.
- Able to provide clear internally focussed client management;
- Proven team worker;
- Self motivated and able to plan manage and work with minimum supervision/input;
- Logical and clear decision making skills.
