Outline of role
General
• Direct and guide assigned Project Managers and project teams
• Direct multiple-disciplinary work scopes
• Maintain client contact for project delivery and ensure that project delivery meets the client’s objectives and requirements
• Utilise specific client and sector knowledge
• Ensure that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and completed in accordance within agreed quality, timescales and budgets.
• Ensure that all work is carried out in full compliance with the Company’s Quality and Financial system
• Provide technical guidance, support and training to colleagues and assist, where practicable, in mentoring and development of others
• Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required
• Participate in the preparation/presentation of proposals/bids as required including estimating timescales and costs for proposed works
• Provide annual budget and quarterly forecasts to achieve agreed strategy
• Identify and manage project and programme resources
CDM-c
• Give advice and assistance to the client on what he needs to do to comply with CDM 2007.
• Ensure that arrangements are in place for co-ordination and co-operation during the planning and preparation phase;
• Identify and collect the pre construction information;
• Take steps to ensure that designers comply with their CDM duties
Qualifications required
• Recognised engineering degree
• Membership of professional body, engineering preferred
• PRINCE2 qualified
Experience required
• In depth knowledge of Utility sectors and clients
• Knowledge of business systems and business change associated with optimised asset management systems
• Excellent project and programme management skills with PRINCE2 experience in knowledge areas.
• Competent in the use of MS Project, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• The ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members and to produce concise and high quality reports in clear English
