Increased efficiency and protection
Glen Finglas Dam and Hydro Station were constructed in the 1960’s as a dedicated generation plant. Although operational it did not meet OFGEM criteria in terms of it being as efficient as possible.
Having conducted a comprehensive feasibility study and secured funding, Grontmij oversaw the refurbishment of the asset and installation of several protection devices. The asset currently produces and average annual energy yield of circa 3000MW/Hr.
