Flood risk assessment
Grontmij was appointed by Severn Trent Water to provide an assessment of flood risk resulting from the combination of a renewal of assets within the existing boundary of Matlock Sewage Treatment Works and the construction of a new access bridge to the treatment works.
Thorough analysis and reporting
The hydrology of the River Derwent catchment was estimated including the effect of climate change. A higher resolution composite hydraulic model was constructed from the original model supplied by the Environment Agency to determine site peak water levels. This work included design of scour protection for the proposed bridge pillars and production of reports for the environmental impact assessment.
