Hydrological modelling
Hydrological modelling can be used to support planning applications for private developers or as a basis for Cost-Benefit Analysis. Grontmij is experienced in the development of detailed flood inundation maps, highlighting areas at risk from flooding. We combine the latest modelling software to model steady and unsteady flows within rivers, and to assess peak flows and maximum water depths.
We consider the potential effects of climate change, changing alignment, grade and cross-sectional areas of the watercourse as well as the effects of weirs, bridges, culverts etc.

Grontmij has a team of professionally qualified water resources and contaminant hydrogeologists who provide a broad range of expertise in groundwater evaluation, management and remediation. Our in-house facilities include a range of groundwater and contaminant modelling software, including contamination, risk assessment, pumping test analysis and groundwater flow and transport models.
