Biological research and reporting
In 2005, the De Stichtse Rijnlanden Water Board launched a WFD pilot project, which was primarily focussed on monitoring.
Grontmij is responsible for the biological research and reporting on the water quality elements that need to be sampled to meet the requirements of the WFD.
Thorough investigation
The extensive investigation into vegetation, macrofauna, phytoplankton and phytobenthos is being undertaken for 27 locations in the Langbroekerwetering area. The results will be compared with scales for the most similar natural types of water bodies and, if available, those for heavily modified waters.
