Grontmij was involved in the design, specification, procurement and management of the ground improvement, foundations and earthworks for the upgrade of Esholt Waste Water Treatment Works in West Yorkshire. The project was undertaken for Morgan Est.
Extensive geotechnical involvement
During the early stages of detailed design, our geotechnical team designed and procured additional site investigation to aid the design of the foundations and ground improvement for a number of structures. These included an activated sludge plant, digester, final settlement tank and a pipe bridge. We then specified a range of solutions including vibro replacement, vibro concrete columns and driven piling.
