Keighley College
The redevelopment of Keighley College provided the opportunity for the integration of the college into the wider urban context. The location of the new development is in close proximity to the existing railway station, which meant a sustainable transport plan could be delivered, of which the public realms played a key part.
Balancing the requirements of the new college building, an associated transport interchange and users of the adjacent historic railway station required a comprehensive public realm assessment. In addition, complex ground level variations around the site were successfully negotiated using dramatic changes of level, both within the building and in the public realm.
