Sagentia, Cambridge
The project for Sagentia involved the expansion of their existing research and development offices and laboratory at Harston Mill, Cambridge, to provide an additional 4,000m2 of floor space and a total of 285 parking spaces for a total construction budget of circa £8m.
Grontmij was responsible for the masterplanning, detailed design and landscape contract administration for this highly sensitive site. The proposals also included a delicate balancing of earthworks and a highly innovative Sustainable Urban Drainage System which was designed and developed by the practice. The system used planted bio-swales, rather than petrol interceptors and below ground drainage, to manage the run off from the large parking area.
