Al Bayda, Libya
Grontmij has developed the landscape design proposal for Al Bayda House, a private residence comprising a sequence of outdoor terraces and garden spaces offering views over the Jabal al Akhdar, the Green Mountain region of Libya, towards the mediterranean coastline.
Positioned at the edge of the plateau the house and gardens will benefit from the prevailing coastal winds from the north east.
The design aims to create a unique, welcoming guest experience, to integrate the house with it’s mountain landscape context and to enhance the biodiversity of the area, minimising demands on natural resources.
