Douglas studied at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada obtaining an Honours Degree in Landscape Architecture. He has 20 years UK experience working in both private practice and freelance. More recently he worked for four years in private practice in Vancouver, Canada, joining Grontmij in September 2006.
At Grontmij, Douglas is part of a team carrying out ongoing research to develop sustainable design practices for the firm, including sustainable urban drainage, rainwater harvesting, green and biodiverse roofs, use of recycled materials, materials from sustainable sources as well as planting design for water conservation and biodiversity.
