Great West Quarter, Brentford
The redevelopment of this brownfield site in west London as a residential lead mixed use quarter provided a new high density, high quality neighbourhood in a challenging urban environment.
At the heart of the scheme is a large piazza, designed as a shared space which minimises the impact of the service road. Two groves of trees frame the space which can be used for a range of activities and events. The square is accessible from new boulevards that connect the site to its surroundings and create new local pedestrian routes which avoid the A4 pavement.
