Queen Elizabeth Park

Queen Elizabeth Park, Guildford

The site, a former army barracks, was planned as a mixed use development including 525 new homes, retail and community facilities and employment use.

The existing mature landscape informed the masterplan to create an established parkland setting, focusing on a village green at the heart of the site. All important woodland areas [over 1000 trees] were retained and a network of green links throughout the site contribute to 7Ha of open space within a total site area of 23Ha.

Grontmij undertook the landscape and visual impact assessment as part of an EIA, which was submitted with the outline planning application, then acted as landscape masterplanners for the whole site. Later Grontmij was responsible for the detailed design for the Linden Homes phases.
