Grontmij will be responsible for the technical studies (structure, façades, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electricity and the high and low voltage power supply) as well as the environmental aspects of the project and the supervision of works. Grontmij won the contract as part of a consortium led by BATEG, a general contractor and subsidiary of the VINCI group, along with architects MOATTI & RIVIÈRE.
SETE aims to transform the first floor of the tower, currently little more than an intermediate stop for visitors between the esplanade and the 2nd and 3rd floors, into an attractive feature in its own right. The redevelopments include shops, information points to help visitors understand the tower, a restaurant, as well as a huge glass floor which will span the area between the pillars. The project also includes the construction of three new pavilions which have been designed in the same spirit and will be built entirely of glass to ensure maximum visibility.
Grontmij is proud to be part of this mission to redevelop the best-known and most visited monument in France. It also provides further recognition of our experience in prestigious and historical landmark projects with stringent technical requirements.
