The company entered teams in the all-female, all-male and mixed categories to compete against 92 other teams in relay races – and two out of three won their events.
Each team combined to cover the 13.1 mile course, with five runners running two miles each while the sixth then raced the final 3.1 miles to the finish.
Both Grontmij’s all-female team and its mixed team won, while the all-men’s team came fourth.
Amy Henstock, environmental manager at Grontmij said: “The corporate challenge is a great way to raise money for some really worthwhile charities whilst also drumming up a bit of friendly rivalry.
“The competition was extremely tough and both the all-female and mixed team are thrilled about winning and we’re all looking forward to doing the corporate challenge next year.”
Grontmij’s women’s team comprised of Harriet Carlyle, Fiona Todd, Leila Hallam, Susan Davies, Linsey Cottrell, Jennifer Hamilton. Its mixed team included Alex Lewis, Amy Henstock, Danny Crump, Mark Howard, Debbie Young and Rob Grant. Meanwhile, the men’s’ team was made up of Tim Green, Daniel Carter, Ian Hampton, Kes Sidagas, Tom Stripe and Chris Newsome.
