14 Feb 2011 | Grontmij strengthens Edinburgh team with new appointment 

Leading landscape architecture practice Grontmij, formerly known as Whitelaw Turkington, has appointed a senior associate landscape architect for their Edinburgh design studio.
 

Andy Follis, who previously worked at planners PPCA Ltd, joins the expanding Scottish landscape architecture team. 

He brings with him a strong understanding of development masterplanning and urban design, well-honed skills in landscape assessment and the integration of major infrastructure and new development into the landscape.

Andy Follis comments: “I am very pleased to be joining Grontmij at a time of expansion of its landscape capability in Scotland.  I will strengthen our ability to service clients in the renewable energy and infrastructure markets from the earliest stages of project planning through to implementation.

“My main focus is to continue to deliver the successful integration of engineering and the environment, with sound technical knowledge and understanding of communities and their landscape at its heart.”

Guy Denton, director of landscape architecture for Grontmij, says: “We are thrilled to have Andy as part of our Scottish team. His years of experience and expertise within landscape design will be an asset to all future projects.

“This is an exciting time for Grontmij, alongside Andy joining us in the Edinburgh office, Jon Simmons has arrived as operations director in our Glasgow office. We have spent over 20 years building an enviable reputation and intend to continue to operate successfully, ensuring the fundamentals the practice was founded upon remain unchanged.”
