Safeguarding against major risks
Grontmij undertook a pilot resilience exercise for Severn Trent’s major sewage treatment works looking at the risks from major events including flooding, fire, explosion, subsidence, toxic shock or extended power failures.
The exercise took account of the DEFRA Guidance on Emergency Planning and looked at the impact of events on critical assets throughout the site before considering mitigation measures that could be applied before, during and after the events.
