Project Management
Creating value for our clients and stakeholders
Grontmij has a wealth of experience in providing project management services and a successful record of delivering a wide range of multidisciplinary projects from initiation through to completion within predetermined time, cost and quality parameters.
We have well established project planning processes that ensure high quality technical and service delivery, and create value for our clients and stakeholders. Good planning is the cornerstone of Project Management and our Project Managers apply the planning tools throughout the project lifecycle.
Dedicated Professionals
At inception, each project is allocated a project manager and a technical specialist who have the appropriate skills and experience to manage the complexity of the project. We have a structured training programme, which focuses on the core competences required to develop our people into effective project managers. To ensure that these standards are maintained project management performance is continually monitored and reviewed to ensure our standards are maintained.
Project Planning
As part of the project planning process, the Project Manager assists the client to finalise the project brief, agree deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy. A programme is prepared using Microsoft Project or Primavera and progress is tracked and updated.
Q uality Planning
Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures are established with defined roles and responsibilities. Project reviews are held at key stages of the project and lessons learned are fed back and actioned as part of the Continuous Improvement process.
Risk Management
Project Managers take a proactive approach to identifying, assessing and managing risks by maintaining a live risk register with assigned ownership. Risks are monitored and controlled and mitigation measures are implemented.
Value Management
This is a structured approach to defining what ‘value’ means to a client when meeting a perceived need, and to delivering that value via the design and construction process.
Change Control
To avoid scope creep and abortive work, the Project Managers are experienced to recognize and manage changes to the defined scope by following a change control process. Commercial impacts and risks are assessed as part of the process.
Issue Management
An automated spreadsheet tool is used to ensure that all issues are identified. An owner is assigned to investigate the issue and take appropriate action to resolve it within a set time.
