Grontmij was appointed to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council framework for traffic and transportation. The work comprised individual commissions for all aspects of local highway transporation work ranging from route studies to minor improvements.

Accident reduction

Grontmij has undertaken analysis, design and site supervision for a series of local safety schemes throughout the local highway network. Linked to the authority’s target of reducing the number of killed and seriously injured on the highway network Grontmij has used its extensive traffic and highway experience to deliver cost effective solutions for the client. The implemented schemes have led to a reduction in casualties at several sites. The solutions include traffic calming measures, junction improvements, pavement renewals, enforcement camera infrastructure and signing and lining schemes.

Development of a partnership with a local traffic sub-consultant enhanced our capability and gave the client confidence of our understanding of the issues and ability to deliver.
