Grontmij produced a transport statement and travel plan to support the planning application for the re-location of a Porsche Car Care and Sales Centre from Dorridge to Monkspath Business Park in Solihull.

By obtaining detailed information regarding the operation of the Dorridge site, Grontmij were able to demonstrate how each department at the new site would have its own hours of operation, and how this in turn would generate a limited number of vehicle trips to and from the site during AM and PM peak periods and throughout the day.

Reducing private vehicle use

A travel plan was produced to demonstrate the ways in which employees at the centre could reduce private vehicle use (particularly single occupancy trips), thus reducing the centre’s environmental impact upon the local area.

Grontmij was able to suggest further site specific measures that Porsche could implement at their new business park location, culminating in the setting of a target for a reduction in single occupancy car use that was agreed with Solihull District Council.
