Development and appraisal of highways
Understanding client needs
Investing in new highway infrastructure requires a rigorous assessment of options to ensure the development of value for money solutions that reflect the needs of local communities and the environment. Grontmij has extensive experience in appraisal and route selection processes and we have produced numerous scheme appraisals in accordance with government guidance in England and Scotland.
Multi-criteria methodology for options assessment
We possess the capability to update and interrogate existing network models or build new models to test the operation of the various scenarios and options. Techniques such as Cost Benefit Analysis (COBA), Transport User Benefit Appraisal (TUBA), and Queues and Delays at Roadworks (QUADRO) are used as part of a multi-criteria methodology for the assessment of various options and the development of preferred solutions.
Our experience includes appearance as expert witness to promote our clients’ schemes at oral hearings and public inquiries.
