Asset management and performance improvement
In order to achieve performance improvements, telemetry data has to be integrated into the asset management/business systems, which requires the development of related standards, both for asset design and also for asset monitoring.
At Grontmij, we help develop policy to the detailed level for asset monitoring and the associated data quality assurance required to maintain the policy over time. This includes risk and consequence of failure analysis for each asset type. In addition, we assist in the development of management reporting including the combination of telemetry data with energy/ chemical/ manpower costs and the use of RAG (Red Amber Green) reports.
Alarm management
Alarm management has become increasingly problematic particularly with regard to the high volume. Grontmij has the experience to develop policy and process to provide enhanced alarm management. This can include assurance that only the required alarms are monitored and those which can be passed directly to maintenance are routed correctly. Here, job tickets can be issued automatically and alarms are tracked and dealt with to ensure they are actioned correctly, with a full audit trail.
Business process improvement and change management
To maximise the benefit from the telemetry upgrade and integration, Grontmij assists in the development and implementation of an associated business process improvement programme. Under this, we analyse the business processes that utilise the data against the business need, and where appropriate model the process and then drive this through the business with an associated change management programme.
Configuration management
In order to maintain the standards to which the telemetry system is configured, including the look and feel, Grontmij has a highly skilled team with detailed knowledge of configuration management. This knowledge is incorporated into the system design to ensure that clients’ intellectual property is maintained and can be updated easily when the need arises.
Project implementation
For an efficient project implementation, Grontmij has extensive skills in managing the implementation of these large region-wide systems including the specification, procurement, testing and migrating/ commissioning. We have also developed tool sets to assist in the migration of the existing system configuration to the new system and the development of the new system configuration.
